Quest4Success Guest Speaker @ LSBU JUN 2015

Welcome to the Quest4Success blog. Throughout May and June I have been attending some phenomenal workshops across London both for business and personal development and in this instance, with some marvelous results... You'll have to read on to find out more...

In May, I met some wonderful fellow Entrepreneurs at the Tree Shepherd 8 week Enterprise Course. Tree Shepherd is a Social Enterprise focused on promoting and supporting business growth in the UK’s most marginalised communities. The founder Colin Crooks has a successful track record in establishing and running social enterprises spanning over 20 years, working with large corporate, governmental clients and more recently the local community.

I’ve been impressed with the co-ordination of this course from Monique Tomlinson, an experienced entrepreneur who previously worked in fashion and dress-making, she was keen to join a team that supports local people who manage busy lives yet want to set up in business. The enthusiasm and professionalism from Monique from the very first instance was warm and welcoming and I’m really grateful for the experience of learning and growing my business with phenomenal fellow entrepreneurs.

Here we are at the Brixton Bid Launch event earlier this month, celebrating the new launch of Brixton Bid and Tree Shepherd's anniversary. We were missing the lovely Nadisha, Ruth and Caroline in this instance.

I have also been participating in workshops with Southbank University for established Entrepreneurs. We have done various workshops across a range of topics from Pitching to Policies and it’s been a fantastic experience learning so much. My 1st workshop was ‘Presentation Techniques’ with Anastasia Marinopoulou and I was blown away within the first hour; Anastasia has a unique ability to teach you how to effectively plan and deliver your message to your audience. We spent hours as a group, feeding back our delivery on each of our 3 minute Elevator Pitches which until this day has proved invaluable. I also particiapted in several workshops with OpenToCreate, an organisation inspiring creativity & nurturing talent of robust & sustainable business women 30-50 yrs old from the creative industries.

After various workshops I was invited to represent the Investment Escalator programme by sharing my journey with 6 MBAs from Ohio University alongside Simon Powell, Founder of Fit2Trip, an Insurance brokerage company assisting foreign travellers with illnesses to get travel insurance in order to travel. Simon graduated from LSBU recently and their Alumni programme has assisted his company to go from strength to strength following a pitching competition he won. It was great hearing about the journeys from all and the Ohio University MBAs shared some interesting journeys and facts surrounding their qualifications, careers and lives in sunny Ohio.

Overall, a great end to the 1st half of the year - yes we are 6 months in to 2015! Coupled with Law of Attraction seminars and Creative and Business meet ups with like minded folk, it's been a great few months. Looking forward to the upcoming 6 months and beyond.

Look out for the update on Friday's event and more inspirational and motivational news from Quest4Success - Lots of great news to share, as I've been mega busy.

Happy Half New Year....
